Marit Olson serves as the Youth Harvest Project Coordinator with Garden City Harvest in Missoula, Montana. In this role she works with local at-risk teenagers to build job and life skills through meaningful work, growing food, and intentional community building. Marit graduated with High Honors from the University of Montana with a bachelor's degree in Sociology in 2015. Since graduation she has pursued social justice work serving two AmeriCorps terms: one with After School Programs in Oregon with Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest and a second year focused on food and garden education in Washington. More recently Marit explored her interest in international food justice with a three-month internship at the Navdanya Biodiversity Conservation Farm in India. When Marit isn't teaching teenagers to pull carrots, she can be found fiddling, tossing a frisbee, cooking, or exploring Missoula area trails.
