Marissa Castaneda is the Equity, Justice and Multi-Cultural Education Director at Sacred Heart Atherton, where she works directly with minoritized students and provides training and instruction for the prep in the area of equity, access, and diversity. Marissa earned her Master's in Theological Studies from Harvard University and obtained her B.A. from UC Berkeley in Ethnic Studies and Sociology. Prior to joining Sacred Heart, she worked for Innovate Public Schools. She has also worked with Conservation Corps North Bay providing direct services to at-potential youth in recruitment and retention strategy; served as an ambassador for Immigrants Rising, formerly known as Educators for Fair Consideration; and founded the Napa Valley Dream Team, an immigration advocacy organization. In her spare time, Marissa is an avid reader, hiker and loves to travel.
