Maria Konecke
Legislative Aide, Wisconsin State Assembly

Maria Konecke received a B.A. in Economics and Music, with a focus in Piano Performance, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018. She grew up in Delafield and Greenville, Wisconsin. Maria currently serves as a Legislative Aide and Research Assistant to Wisconsin State Representative Debra Kolste. In addition, she is responsible for overseeing public outreach and communications for the Representative. Her work focuses primarily on advancing initiatives to create healthcare equity, among other policy directives. Maria has a diverse background of professional experience, which includes arts administration, non-profit fundraising, and policy analysis. While a student at UW-Madison, she served on the Performing Arts Committee at the Wisconsin Union Theater. She was also a member of UW-Madison's founding chapter of Women in Economics. A healthcare economics course sparked her interest in healthcare reform policy. A passion for community engagement informs her professional and personal life.
