Mahoganie Gaston
Coordniater,Support Services for LGBTQ youth, Dallas Independent School District

Mahoganie Gaston is employed by Dallas Independent School District where she works as a Coordinator for the Homeless Education Program working with homeless and LGBTQ students. Before joining Dallas ISD, Mahoganie has worked with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, residential youth treatment facilities, homeless shelters and other nonprofits in the surrounding counties in the DFW metroplex.

Mahoganie, is actively involved in the community joining Junior League of Dallas in 2018 and the board of Directors for Dallas Hope Charities in 2019. She has participated in other young professional groups in Dallas such as DIFFA Dallas Young Professionals, where she was Vice President, the Mayor's Star Council and the inaugural Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Cohort through Communities Foundation of Texas. She brings years of experience in case management, outreach, and hands on experience with at risk youth as well as experience teaching parenting and life-skills classes.

Mahoganie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grambling State University. In addition, She is also a registered yoga instructor with specific purpose of serving youth that have experienced trauma. When she is isn't working or serving the community, you can catch her in any cycling or yoga class or home relaxing with her child Sadie, an eight pound sassy Chihuahua mix.
