A believer in the power of personal narratives and community as guiding forces for change, Lisa works for United We Dream-Houston, a nonprofit that fights for the rights of undocumented youth in Houston. She received her Bachelors of Science in Mass Communications from Texas State University. While earning her master's in Sociology and a graduate certificate in Women's Studies at the University of Houston, she conducted a program evaluation Project Row Houses' Young Mothers Residential Program (YMRP), a two-year residency program that holistically assists young mothers in leading self-sufficient lives. Additionally, Lisa served as the Communication Manager for the UH Social Work Policy Insider Advisory Committee (PIAC). Currently, she is a member of the NAACP's Young Adult committee and also serves on the Political Endorsement Committee for United We Dream Action.
