Linh Tran brings a passion for sustainability and collaboration as well as a cross-sector background to NLC Family. For over 10 years, she has lead cross-functional teams in government, companies, and nonprofit organizations to advance sustainability.
She is currently a Funder Engagement Officer for the Water Funder Initiative, facilitating the work of a funder collaborative dedicated to identifying and activating promising water solutions through strategic philanthropic investments in the United States. She has also served as an Obama Organizing Fellow, Tom Ford Fellow for Philanthropy at the Compton Foundation, Executive Fellow at the California Conservation Corps, Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellow with Guitar Center, and sustainability consultant to Ares Management.
Linh firmly believes that collaboration is key to scalable, multi-benefit solutions for sustainable communities and ecosystems. For example through partnerships with local nonprofits and state agencies, she launched the California Energy Service Corps AmeriCorps Program. The statewide program provided green job training to youth and increased the water and energy efficiency of 7,300+ low-income family homes in its first year.
She holds a BA in Human Biology with a concentration in conservation and sustainable development from Stanford University, and a MA in Environmental Management with specializations in energy and water resources management from Yale University.
When relaxing, Linh can be found hiking the mountains of Colorado or tending to indoor plants and a backyard garden.
