La’Meshia Whittington-Kaminski
Friends of the Earth, Democracy Campaigner

La’Meshia Whittington-Kaminski is the President of TW2 Inc 501(c) 3 a non-profit which provides instruments and lessons free-of-charge to various at-risk, impoverished and special needs youth across North Carolina. She is the Co-Founder of a premier music school located in southeast Raleigh, NC: The Scale Academy of Performing Arts, alongside her business partners Robert Whittingtong Jr., and Sanja Whittington. She has instructed hundreds of students in music lessons, live performances, music production, and music enrichment activities. La’Meshia, alongside her brother, has designed music arts programs that have been taught to students as close as North Carolina and as far as China and South Africa.

La’Meshia is the Democracy Campaigner for Friends of the Earth environmental organization, she is the only democracy campaigner in the nation for Friends of the Earth U.S. She leads work on policy/advocacy, community engagement and research on human rights, social rights and the intersections of environmental justice in communities, specifically communities of color. Lastly, La’Meshia is the Co-Founder of Green Responders, a disaster community-based relief organization. During Hurricane Florence La’Meshia, alongside her business partner Cayce Kaminski, coordinated over 250 water and land rescues for citizens in eastern North Carolina. She was one of the coordinators of over 80 supply drops, voter education events after the storm and airdropped thousands of pounds of supplies to eastern North Carolina and Florida communities after Hurricane Michael.

La’Meshia is a classically trained instrumentalist, performing over 7 instruments. Her love for service ignited at a young age when she saw her grandmother and mother deeply active in their community. Her family’s principles of faith, dedication and above all love, has been the guiding forces for her passion in working with the youth and families of North Carolina and beyond.
