Kelly Sawyers
MoveOn, Online Fundraising Campaign Director

Kelly Sawyers is the Online Fundraising Campaign Director at MoveOn, one of the nation's largest progressive political and advocacy organizations, focused on building a world where everyone can thrive by electing inspiring progressive leaders and holding corporations and politicians accountable through grassroots advocacy. She is focused on small-dollar fundraising to power MoveOn's initiatives and bundling contributions directly for candidates like Rashida Tlaib, Stacey Abrams, Beto O'Rourke, and Ilhan Omar.

Kelly has been working in social justice for many years, with a primary focus on advocating for gender and LGBTQ equality. Prior to MoveOn, she spent time working in immigration advocacy and at, where she built global campaigns for girls education with First Lady Michelle Obama and successfully campaigned with Malala Yousafzai to expand funding to allow millions of girls in the Global South to receive a high school education.

Kelly is a lifelong Californian who got her start in politics in high school, working with  Planned Parenthood Action Fund to advocate against Props 73 and 85, which would have required parental consent for minors in the state to access abortion care. Before moving to San Francisco in 2014, she spent several years working in Hollywood with the goal of addressing the gender inequity in front of and behind the camera by producing films written for, by, and about women.

Still an avid film and TV buff, in her spare time you'll find Kelly at the Alamo Drafthouse seeing a movie, hanging out with her dog Lennon, or taking--and teaching--kickboxing.
