Kathy Tran serves as an administrative, organizing, and communication specialist for the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers Local 21 (IFPTE Local 21). She previously worked as a field representative for Assemblymember Evan Low. In her past capacity, she was the liaison for the City of Campbell and oversaw environmental, health, and women's issues within the district office. Kathy graduated from San Jose State University (SJSU) with a degree in Political Science. She is an alumna of the SJSU Humanities Honors Program. In 2016, she was selected to represent SJSU as a Congressional Fellow for the Panetta Institute of Public Policy where she interned for Congressman Jared Huffman in Washington D.C. She is active in Democratic circles and including the Silicon Valley Young Democrats and the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific American Democratic Club. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, knitting, and reading.
