Kara Lane is a seasoned arts professional with focus on education and is experienced in varied aspects of general visual arts and ceramic arts programming. During her 12 years working in the field of arts education, Lane has assisted multiple organizations with fundraising, curriculum development, program management, and instructor recruitment in addition to extensive instructional practice within a variety of environments and demographics. Her instructional history includes work with homeless populations, underserved youth, and veterans, as well as traditional and non-traditional educational settings such as the school where she has worked for many years and multiple after-school programs and camps.
Lane has also worked consistently to develop her personal work as a ceramic artist throughout her career. Her former brand, Kara Lane Ceramics, has been featured in multiple art galleries, exhibitions, and retailers both in her home state of Oklahoma and nationwide and is currently showing at Oklahoma City's immersive art experience Factory Obscura MixTape. Lane is now beginning work on a new brand which will include digital educational content in the field of ceramics with the intent to provide information to novice level artists, along with curated hand-made ceramic collections and Lane's own featured products. The intent of Lane's current project is to merge education and fine art in a way that provides access to information and quality product for audiences that are outside of the traditional ceramic arts culture.
