Julia Elmaleh-Sachs is a plaintiff’s side employment discrimination attorney at Crumiller P.C., the Feminist Litigation Firm, with a background in public service and politics. Prior to joining Crumiller P.C., Julia worked at Wigdor LLP where she represented the five NY1 anchors who sued their employer for age and gender discrimination, as well as many other plaintiffs who sued firms like Goldman Sachs and Point72 for LGBTQ and/or gender discrimination. Julia attended University of Maryland-College Park for her undergraduate degree and majored in government and politics. Her proximity to Washington, D.C. allowed her to pursue an internship at the White House in First Lady Michelle Obama’s office. Julia was so inspired by the Obama Administration’s genuine dedication to improving the lives of all Americans that she deferred law school for a year to work on President Obama’s reelection campaign at headquarters in Chicago. During law school at Hofstra University, Julia interned for the Chief Judge of the D.C. District Court, the Legal Aid Society and the Democratic National Committee in the Voting Rights Project. Upon graduating from law school, Julia began her legal career as a Juvenile Rights attorney with the Legal Aid Society in Brooklyn where she spent three years advocating for children and families in Kings County Family Court. Julia lives in Brooklyn with her fiance and spends her free time immersed in local politics as the Executive Vice President of the Brooklyn Young Democrats and the Legal Director of the New York State Young Democrats. When she is not working to fight for justice and transparent democracy, Julia enjoys traveling to France to visit her mom's side of the family and to many other places both close by and far away.
