Josh Howerton is a born and raised proud product of Eastern Kentucky, presently living in Lexington. Josh currently serves as the Voter File Manager for the Kentucky Democratic Party. In this role, Josh provides winning guidance and training to campaigns and partners across the Commonwealth to run more effective, data-driven programs.
In his short time so far with KDP, Josh was instrumental in helping the party win back and return our shared Kentucky values to the Governor's Mansion in 2019. Prior to returning home to the Bluegrass State, Josh served in various leadership capacities for campaigns across the country, including notable wins in Florida and Texas.
Josh is most proud of his work on the 2017 San Antonio Mayor's race where Ron Nirenberg became the first challenger to defeat an incumbent mayor in 25 years; State Senator Janet Cruz's narrow victory by 411 votes - one of the races in Florida that underwent a hand recount - in 2018, defeating a controversial incumbent; and Jane Castor, the first openly LGTB Mayor of Tampa in 2019.
Josh is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts and Studies with a Political Science minor.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys geeking out over Marvel and Star Wars, watching his beloved Kentucky Wildcats, cooking new recipes, and hoping that Whataburger migrates to Kentucky.
