Jolene Nieves Byzon
Director of Communications, City of Philadelphia - Office of the City Controller

Jolene Nieves Byzon is the Director of Communications for the City of Philadelphia's Office of the City Controller, working under newly-elected, and first woman to ever hold the post, Rebecca Rhynhart.

Previously, Ms. Byzon worked on Rebuilding Community Infrastructure in the Managing Director's Office and Philadelphia City Council. Prior to her time in City Council, Ms. Byzon served as Speechwriter to Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter, penning speeches on the state of the city, the budget, education, innovation and technology, and more. Prior to that, she worked as a Press Aide in the Nutter Administration.

Ms. Byzon lives in Philadelphia's East Falls neighborhood with her husband and French bulldog. She is an avid reader, political junkie and running enthusiast. She received a Master of Science in Public Communication from Drexel University and holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and in Political Science from the Honors College at Seton Hill University.
