John C. Scott
Covanta Energy, Marketing Manager

John C. Scott is a Marketing Manager for Covanta Energy.  In his job, he works with state, local, and national policymakers; environmental advocacy groups; and large commercial businesses to help drive sustainability efforts for one of the world’s largest energy from waste companies. He has had experience in: business development, community outreach, direct energy sales, government affairs, merger integration, project management, and sustainability consulting. In 2017, John served as a guest lecturer at Fordham University and spoke on the topic of alternative energy.

In addition to his experience in industry, John devotes time to volunteer activities that include: Executive Director of Keep Chester Beautiful (a Keep America Beautiful affiliate); Member of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission Task Force for Public Participation and Goods Movement Task Force; Board Member for the Chester Environmental Partnership; and Member of the Metropolitan Council of Governments.

John holds a MS in Management from Fordham University – Gabelli School of Business. In addition, he received a BS in Finance from Lincoln University (PA).  Also, he completed international studies at the American College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland and at the Polytechnic Institute of Namibia in Windhoek, Namibia.
