Jignasha Pandya is an experienced designer and collaboration strategist who loves building equity-focused, culturally relevant, and user-centered learning environments. She has over 10 years of experience in the field of education, both domestic and international. Her work in education has spanned the spectrum to include classroom instruction, leadership coaching, curriculum development, program development and strategic project management. In her current role as a Program Manager with Pivot Learning, Jignasha is focused on designing systems and processes for supporting school districts with complex, multi-year initiative implementation and management.
Jignasha is especially adept at taking a concept idea and designing and implementing pilots to bring the idea to reality, and has helped develop and launch many innovative, next-generation learning programs. She especially enjoys working at the intersection of education, social justice and cultural competency and has worked with organizations that work towards addressing that nexus. Jignasha immigrated from India for educational opportunities and as a result, is very passionate about and a strong advocate of public education and has worked to provide high-quality education options to students in various contexts.
Jignasha started her career in education as a high school science teacher in Washington, DC with the DC Teaching Fellows. During her tenure as a teacher, Jignasha earned the Highly Effective teacher status under DC's rigorous teacher evaluation system and was selected as a Teach Plus Teaching Policy Fellow. Jignasha received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Neuroscience from Macalester College and a Masters of Education in Education Policy and Leadership Studies from American University. She is a proud member of the League of Women Voters of Oakland and serves on their Education Committee and an alumna of New Politics Leadership Academy's Answering the Call program focused on leadership development for service alums interested in serving through politics.
Jignasha is a food, wine and language enthusiast and loves traveling. She is proud and privileged to live in Oakland, with her partner and their beloved dog.
