Jeremy Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University. With a background in social science research, Jeremy hopes to live his mission statement: to improve lives in a substantive way through the use of data.
Jeremy's background in statistics and desire for service led him to join the Louisville Metro Government in 2017 as an internal consultant for performance improvement and data analytics. His work in local government focused around seeking innovative solutions for business problems. Through that work, Jeremy helped to pilot Power BI as an enterprise business intelligence platform for the city and his department. In 2018, he was recognized with a Trailblazer award by the Office of Performance Improvement and Innovation for his work with business intelligence and open data initiatives. Jeremy currently co-chairs Louisville's city-wide Data Management and Visualization Committee.
Jeremy also serves as the President of the Louisville Young Democrats. Elected to that role in 2019, Jeremy leads a dedicated group of grassroot organizers seeking to engage more young people in civic action. Through the position, he interfaces with elected officials and the local Democratic party to advocate for youth interests. He also uses the position to advocate for greater use of technology and data among elected officials and political campaigns. His most recent focus has been on leveraging Power BI and GIS software to build smarter political campaigns.
Outside of his work as a Data Analyst, Jeremy has also published three professional academic journal articles and served as a reviewer for the journal Basic and Applied Social Psychology.
