JeKia Harrison was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fisk University (Nashville, TN) with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. In 2012, JeKia returned home to pursue a graduate degree in Wellness Management-Health Studies from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Upon her return to Oklahoma, JeKia remained active in the community through work with local nonprofits and advocacy groups to bring awareness for change to her community. JeKia is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity. She currently serves as the Congressional District 5 Director for Young Democrats of Oklahoma. JeKia plans to continue her involvement in organizations similar to these in the future.
JeKia is currently a Child Welfare Specialist III with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. During her time in this position, JeKia has advocated for the safety of children and provided services to families across Oklahoma County.
