Jasmin is currently employed as a secondary English and creative writing teacher in the School District of Palm Beach County. She was born and raised in Florence, Mississippi and moved to Palm Beach, Florida in 2014.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in English and Science. Furthering her education, Jasmin obtained her master’s degree in Elementary Education (M.Ed) with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. She went on to get her Educational Specialist (Ed.S) degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on curriculum and instruction at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. For the past three years, Jasmin was selected as one of the few teachers to participate in the High Impact Teacher Corps for the State of Florida.
Jasmin is passionate about progressive policy change and is committed to building inclusive networks through the development of authentic relationships across differences.
Jasmin is compelled to continue her work to protect the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society – our youth. It is her goal to bridge communities together in solidarity to provide a blanket of protection for our future generations. Jasmin is committed to her role in various organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign to fight for the equality of all people. Her passion for education and serving underprivileged youth in the community truly fuels her work.
