Jamerus Payton, a native of Greenville, NC, has a diverse portfolio of unique experiences across various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. He has combined over 15+ years as an Operations Leader, Life Insurance Agent, Social Entrepreneur and Philanthropist.
Currently, he is an Operations Professional with experience in low and high volume manufacturing environments and over 7 years of versatile leadership experience in driving successful high performing teams with up to 60+ direct reports. As the President and CEO of The Payton Insurance Group, LLC., he continues to heavily work with and advocate for wealth creation and sustainability of Black businesses, jobs and investors. Additionally, he is a major advocate for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). His love for HBCUs has led to the creation of HBCU Wall Street, LLC, an organization with a mission of increasing financial literacy within our nation’s HBCU community.
A Co-Founder of two North Carolina nonprofit organizations, “Standing Tall For Success, Inc.” and “From Me 2 We, Inc.,” Mr. Payton has served on various nonprofit boards and committees including United Way of Cumberland County. Currently, he is a board member of Future Endeavors Life Program (F.E.L.P), a Fayetteville, NC nonprofit that has a vision of helping and preparing underserved and at risk youth for a future of success. Mr. Payton was an advisory board member for the Department of Applied Engineering Technology in the College of Science and Technology at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University.
He is a proud 2-time graduate of North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, NC, where he double majored in Electronics and Computer Technology, B.S. and Manufacturing Systems, B.S. He also has a Master of Science in Management from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, TX.
