Jake Reyna-Casanova
CommuniCare Health Centers, Senior Development Associate

Jake Reyna-Casanova is a driven healthcare professional with a Master’s level training and 4 years of experience. Jake currently serves as a Senior Development Associate for CommuniCare Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) aiming to improve the health of the entire community, especially for the underserved populations. In this position Jake writes and manages grants for the organization, as well as, helps with fundraising, marketing, and development for the organization throughout the year.

Jake received his bachelor’s degree in Public Health from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and, shortly after, received his Master of Public Health degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2016. Prior to his current role, Jake worked for a different FQHC in Houston, which is where his passion to help those most in need of healthcare services began. However, as a San Antonio native, Jake and his husband decided to move back to be closer to family. In his current position he is able to continue to showcase his passion and dedication towards helping and giving back to the community around him.

Outside of work, as a member of the LGBT community, Jake loves to serve and give back. He currently serves as a committee member of the American College of Healthcare Executives – LGBT Forum. In this role he is able to assist in creating an environment of inclusion amongst LGBT healthcare leaders and their peers, as well as, promote high-quality healthcare for LGBT individuals and families. Additionally, he has volunteered with the Human Rights Campaign to ensure the path to increased LGBT-equality is maintained. In his free time he enjoys running, being with family, friends, and his fur babies, and finding out what his next adventure will be.
