Isa(belle) Barrett is an organizing consultant with 270 Strategies and serves as the Events and Fundraising Coordinator for the Kimberly Graham for U.S. Senate campaign. Originally from "rural adjacent" east central Minnesota, Isa moved to Iowa to pursue an education in the caucuses at Drake University. While at Drake, they studied Strategic Political Communication and held positions in student groups such as the president of Rainbow Union, co-president of Student Activists for Gender Equity, captain of the Model UN team, and data manager of Students for Reproductive Justice. Despite having many reasons to stay on campus, they spent much of their "free" time as a student volunteer for Planned Parenthood of the Heartland. Eventually, they got an internship and were hired on as an electoral fellow by the Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa PAC in the 2018 midterms.
After the election, they took a brief hiatus for political work until joining the presidential scene in January 2019. They organized in central IA with local Democratic and LGBTQ+ affinity groups but moved onto being a community organizer with 270 Strategies, based out of Chicago, focusing on renewable energy and sustainability. During the summer, they were accepted into the One Iowa LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute. Thanks to this program, they became a member of One Iowa's Trans and Non-Binary Advisory Council as well as a board member of the Iowa Abortion Access Fund; the latter of which they specifically assist in volunteer coordination and digital engagement.
During the fall of 2019, Isa became active as a supporter of the Kimberly Graham for U.S. Senate campaign, but quickly joined the team as their Events & Fundraising Coordinator as they couldn't stay away from electoral organizing for long. When not traveling throughout the state for work, Isa resides in the Drake neighborhood with their rescue cats, Neptune and Saturn.
