Holly Bland is an Associate at Nation Consulting. Their work focuses on communications, fundraising, and graphic design for political and nonprofit clients. Additionally, Holly serves as deputy director for the Fair Elections Project, a nonprofit fighting for fair redistricting around the country by inspiring and supporting litigation, legislation, and public advocacy to stop partisan gerrymandering. Before relocating to Milwaukee, Holly worked in development and communications at Preterm, Ohio’s largest independent, nonprofit abortion care facility. They are a storyteller with We Testify, a national organization dedicated to the leadership and representation of people who have had abortions, increasing the spectrum of abortion storytellers in the public sphere, and shifting the way the media understands the context and complexity of accessing abortion care. Holly first became politically active in 2015 after sharing their abortion story publicly for the first time on their college campus. Soon after they became a fellow of the state-wide leadership development program in Ohio named Patients to Advocates (P2A), which prepares people who have had abortions for civic engagement around reproductive health, rights, and justice. Member organizations of the P2A cohort are NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio Foundation, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, Ohio Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, and Preterm. Holly graduated from Cleveland State University in 2018 with a degree in journalism and promotional communications. They live in the Bay View neighborhood with their partner Drew and dog Rocko.
