Associate Curator, Minnesota Historical Society
Hannah Novillo Erickson is a curator and organizer, working to provide platforms for communities to share their stories and heal through the power of history. As the Associate Curator of 3D Objects at the Minnesota Historical Society, Hannah has collaborated with BIPOC entrepreneurs, community members and artists to document and preserve the State’s history for current and future generations. Outside of the Minnesota Historical Society, Hannah is the Board Vice President of Dark Muse Performing Arts, an emerging arts organization centered on amplifying BIPOC stories and storytellers. As an independent curator, Hannah has curated art installations, exhibits and programming for organizations in the Twin Cities and across the country, including TEDxMinneapolis, Uptown Art Fair, Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Hannah’s research has centered on undertold histories in Minnesota and the role of the curator in community art. Now working through a pandemic from home, her family has become her closest coworkers - immense gratitude goes out to her loving partner, Travis and sweet little pup, Maeby. She has a MA in Curatorial Practice from California College of the Arts and a BA in Anthropology and Minor in Sociology from the University of Minnesota.
