Grace Stranch

Grace Stranch is an attorney and community organizer whose legal practice focuses on class actions and labor and employment litigation, specifically union representation. Her legal work includes consumer protection, election law, civil rights, and personal injury. She has been honored by the Tennessee Supreme Court as an Attorney for Justice for her commitment to pro bono work. The Tennessee Bar Association (TBA) has spotlighted her achievements as a young attorney and the Nashville Bar Association (NBA) recently selected her for participation in its 2020 Leadership Forum.

She sits on the diversity committees of the TBA and NBA, is the TBA diversity committee representative for the NBA's 2020 diversity summit, and co-chairs the diversity nonprofit event for the NBA. Ms. Stranch serves as the legislative and lobbying co-chair for the Lawyers' Association for Women. She is the Co-President of the American Constitution Society, a leading progressive legal organization, and has led and participated in legal observing of protests for the National Lawyers Guild. She assisted in founding the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association's Woman's Caucus and has served as membership chair. She is currently a member of the AFL-CIO's Lawyers Coordinating Committee.

Ms. Stranch is very active in environmental work, serving as Chair of the Middle TN Sierra Club, a Tennessee Ambassador for the Environmental Defense Fund, and Vice President of United Mountain Defense. She has led or assisted in organizing the Appalachian Public Interest Environmental Law Conference for nine years and participates in environmental coalitions across the region. She has considerable community organizing experience and has completed grassroots organizational training in Memphis, lobbying training in Washington, D.C, and has worked on a rural political campaign in West Tennessee for the Tennessee Democratic Party.

Every election cycle, Ms. Stranch canvasses and phone banks for progressive candidates. She also raises money for candidates as the co-chair of events for Woman For Tennessee's Future-Young Leaders, a PAC that raises money for progressive woman candidates in Tennessee. She is the chair for community outreach for the Woman's Political Collaborative and is their 2020 ATHENA award nominee. Ms. Stranch frequently presents at conferences and has worked with media to address and educate the public on a variety of progressive issues and concerns.
