Gloria Roker was born and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida and currently works as a secondary teacher. Starting in high school she possessed a love for working with youth that eventually led her to becoming an educator.
Having grown up in an impoverished area with limited access and resources, Gloria persevered in the face of adversity by becoming a first-generation college graduate. She is a proud alumna of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
After working in education for six years and witnessing the effects of legislation on education policy, Gloria decided to pursue a Juris Doctor degree with a specialization in public interest law. She plans to make progressive steps towards changing policy regarding education as well as criminal justice reform. Additional causes that Gloria is passionate about are empowering young women of color and community impact. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and reading and writing poetry.
