Fatima Baig
School District of Philadelphia, Special Education teacher and Case Manager

Fatima is a first-generation Muslim American educator dedicated to transforming the Philadelphia public education system through her work as a special education school teacher and member of the Philadelphia Mayor’s Millennial Advisory Committee. Currently, Fatima is an eighth-grade educator at C.C.A. Baldi Middle School and case manager with the School District of Philadelphia. Fatima’s pedagogical approach is inclusion Special Education, where she focuses on providing an inclusive and transformative education that advocates for the needs of all students.

As a Michigan native, Fatima earned her B.A. in Public Administration and Spanish from Saginaw Valley State University and later relocated to Philadelphia to attend LaSalle University, where she graduated with a M.Ed. Fatima was appointed as a board member to Mayor Kenney’s Millennial Advisory Committee and is currently serving on the Spruce Foundation Grantmaking committee. In addition to teaching, Fatima serves as the Political Liaison for C.C.A. Baldi Middle School through the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers and is active with the PFTs get-out-the-vote efforts. Outside of teaching and advocacy, Fatima spends her time reading, learning to cook new dishes and can almost always be found searching for different countries and cultures to explore abroad.
