Evan Matthew Papp is the Director of Marketing for the Energy Impact Center (EIC), which is a Washington, D.C.-based research institute focused on deep decarbonization. Founded in 2017, the EIC analyzes and supports the solution set of tools to reverse climate change. In this role, Evan also produces the Titans of Nuclear podcast that interviews world experts in the nuclear industry.
Previously, he directed strategic communications for the U.S. Agency for International Development's Power Africa, a U.S. Government-led initiative to double access to electricity in sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative consisted of more than 160 public and private sector partners, which collectively committed more than $50 billion towards achieving Power Africa's goals. It is among the world's largest public-private partnerships in development history.
Before joining USAID, he spent five years with the Peace Corps working on health, education, and public outreach activities in Zambia, Jamaica and Washington, D.C.
He has founded several businesses including a permaculture farm education space in West Virginia and he is currently owner of Empathy Media Lab, which provides a cooperative space for artists to hone their craft, showcase their artistry, and produce transformative stories for a global audience.
