Eric Michael Garza
Norton Rose Fulbright, Counsel

A native South Texan, Eric Michael Garza was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and now calls San Antonio home.  He is an attorney whose practice focuses on complex litigation defense for various businesses. He is committed to pro bono efforts and honoring the Texas Lawyer’s Creed to ensure that all persons have access to competent representation regardless of wealth or position in life.  He believes diversity cultivates innovation and supports organizations that promote diversity in the legal profession. Eric Michael serves as Vice Chair of the State Bar of Texas Standing Committee for Legal Services to the Poor in Civil Matters, and was a member of the 2018 Texas Minority Counsel Program Steering Committee.

Prior to law school, Eric Michael worked full-time for a San Antonio based insurance company, while completing his undergraduate degree.  He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Texas at San Antonio and was part of the team that won the UTSA’s Student Technology Venture Competition in Spring 2013.  The team developed a prototype thermoelectric cooling system that adds comfort and improves hygiene for prostheses. The project included touring the Center for the Intrepid, San Antonio Military Medical Center’s rehabilitation facility for amputees and burn victims, where the team learned directly from those in need of the innovative technology.  Eric Michael went on to receive his law degree and Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University, where he also received the President’s Award and was named a Law Student of the Year for 2016 by the National Jurist magazine.

Eric Michael describes himself as a Whataburger loving, Dr. Pepper drinking, breakfast taco hunting, Texan.  He attempts to balance those things with jogs at Hardberger Park and walks with his cocker-spaniel-mix pup, Clinton.
