Eric Armacanqui
Children's Defense Fund - Minnesota, Policy & Legislative Affairs Director

Eric Armacanqui is currently the Policy & Legislative Affairs Director at the Children’s Defense Fund – Minnesota. He advanced to this role after successfully advocating for immigration and economic development legislation while at the Minnesota Council on Latino Affairs. Before his entrance into politics, he earned a Master of Public Policy degree at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. After graduate school, his award winning Master’s thesis brought him in front of the United States Department of State’s Counterterrorism Bureau, where he was asked to advise their senior leadership on ISIS policy. At the Minnesota State Capitol, Eric is known for his ability advance contentious pieces of legislation with bi-partisan support.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Eric is the proud son of a Peruvian immigrant and an Iowa farmer. While growing up, he was surrounded by family members and friends from all walks of life and corners of the globe. This unique upbringing taught him important values: Hard work, mutual respect, decency, and to treat others the way you want to be treated. In his free time, Eric enjoys watching movies, cooking, going to live music shows and stand-up comedy performances, trying new restaurants, and exploring new cities throughout Minnesota.
