Edward Smith graduated from Clemson University in 2016 with a B.A. in Political Science. He was involved in Model United Nations and Clemson's sailing team. During his time at Clemson, he studied international business abroad in Paris, France. While he was there he picked up his love for French cooking. Prior to graduating, Edward helped create a student organization for a presidential candidate, where he served in a leadership role. He also helped during multiple state campaigns in the upstate as a volunteer organizer.
Through the New Leaders Council, Edward hopes to meet other young professionals who share the same passion for building community and advocating for policies to make urban gardening more accessible in Cincinnati. He hopes to create an "urban orchard" in parks across the city. In the future, Edward hopes to bring change to Cincinnati and become a leader in the community.
In his free time, he enjoys tending his plot at the local community garden where he grows peppers, making birdhouses out of reclaimed materials, and walking along the river with his girlfriend and their rescue dog, Arnie.
