Eden Berdugo is a Director at the Department of Small Business Services (SBS), where she oversees the agency’s services that support New Yorkers in launching and growing their early-stage small businesses. Her cohort-based programs work to connect businesses with the tools they need to build and grow successful businesses. As Director, she supported the design and launch of an entrepreneurial bootcamp series specifically designed for women over 50 in partnership with NYC Economic Development Corporation’s Women.nyc. She also spearheaded a collaboration between Deloitte Consulting to design a Business Adaptation Playbook, a step-by-step guide businesses are using to adapt to changing technologies, customer demands, and dynamic environments amidst COVID-19. When she is not working with small businesses, she is organizing with Momentum Community, an organization that provides movement leaders with tools to build massive, decentralized social movements; and IfNotNow, a progressive Jewish organization fighting for freedom and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians. She trains and coaches organizers on movement strategy and shifting political power into the hands of the people. Eden is also a member of NYC’s Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, where she is part of the Mizrahi caucus, a group of Middle Eastern and North African Jews who learn shared history and partake in cultural experiences together. Eden is a proud immigrant from France born to Moroccan and Algerian Jewish parents. She grew up in San Diego, CA and now calls New York City her home. In her free time, Eden loves exploring new neighborhoods with friends, spending time with family, and bike riding.
