Marq Mitchell, the Founder of Chainless Change Inc., is a child of formerly-incarcerated parents. He has also been directly involved with the criminal justice system. As a result of his personal experience, Marq understands the system firsthand. He is proof that with access to the proper resources, formerly-incarcerated women and men can not only thrive, they can also contribute immensely to society.
Marq attended Florida Memorial University and University of Central Florida. He is trained in Forensic Peer Support. He is devoted to serving his community by focusing on reentry, at-risk youth, and advocacy for disadvantaged groups. After working with several local organizations, he noticed that there were immense gaps in the services that were being offered to those who are justice involved. Marq began to make a concentrated effort to empower and engage this often-overlooked population. It is with this spirit that Chainless Change, Inc. was born. Chainless Change's approach is "providing the tools so that you can unlock your potential."
Marq is an active member in several local reentry and peer support initiatives. He is a member of the Association of Reentry Professionals. He serves on the Broward County Reentry Coalition, is a trained Recovery Peer Support Specialist, is a Community Liaison for OIC of South Florida, serves on the Advocacy Committee with Broward Partnership for the Homeless Initiative's: Imagine Broward Council, and is a member of the South Florida Peer Advisory Group.
