Darlisha Barnes is a Detroiter. She’s a believer, a thinker, and a doer. She thrives on helping others, and as a proud graduate of Detroit Public Schools, is committed to a safe, hopeful, and loving future for its students, families, and school communities. Over the last 10 years, Darlisha has studied media's impact on childhood socialization, taught middle and high school students, coached and developed new teachers, and worked as a senior leader at a nonprofit fighting for education equity. While leading staff recruitment, hiring, and operations, Darlisha began to recognize the connection between an organization’s culture and its ability to deliver on its promises to the people they serve. Currently, Darlisha is a part of Teach For America's Human Assets team, where she creates and manages centralized processes and executes special projects for the Deputy Chief People Officer.
