Darcee Simon
Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development, Assistant Workforce System Coordinator

Darcee Simon made Oklahoma City home after relocating from Mississippi in 2015.  A lifelong learner and educator, Darcee’s career in education began in a New York City middle school classroom.  From there, she taught in Costa Rica before returning to the United States to complete her Master’s degree in TESOL at the School for International Training.

Darcee transitioned from classroom teaching to higher education administration in Career Services and then as the Director of Education at a small technical college in Mississippi, sparking her interest in workforce development and bridging the gap between classrooms and careers.  Paired with her passion for education, Darcee joined the Teach For America national recruitment team based out of Oklahoma City to recruit future teachers from midwest colleges and universities. Her professional interests have driven her academic pursuits as a current doctoral candidate studying Human Resource and Workforce Development at the University of Arkansas.

In her current role as Assistant Workforce Systems Coordinator with the Oklahoma Office of Development, Darcee collaborates with local and state stakeholders to equip Oklahomans with the skills and training needed for our future workforce and economic goals.  Dedicated to community and fostering collaboration, Darcee is the Vice Chair and National Liaison for the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Oklahoma City and a founding Dream Team member of Confidence Con.
