Danielle Blocker is a steadfast organizer and advocate for community empowerment and human rights. Originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, she began organizing as a student activist in St. Louis, Missouri around issues of fair wages and working conditions, and police brutality. Since then she has worked as a union organizer with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), helped launch the Poor People's Campaign: a National Call for Moral Revival, as one of it's inaugural chairs in the state of Maryland, and has worked with communities across Maryland and Washington D.C. to mobilize and train organizers. Danielle currently organizes with youth and young adults in Montgomery County, building a young people's civic organization, Young People for Progress (YPP), and facilitating a local youth advisory council.
