Christopher Jones
Google, Strategic Account Manager

Christopher Jones is an Account Executive at Google Cloud Platform where he manages relationships with some of Google’s most strategic Enterprise customers. His path to this role and to the tech industry in general has been notably unconventional; he began his career on Wall Street, starting as an investment analyst at Citigroup in 2007. He survived the 2008 financial crisis, and spent another 5 years at Citi working as an investments analyst as well as in sales, but in 2013 he was offered the opportunity to switch jobs—and coastlines. Now at Google, he thrives on the innovative work of his clients, and he enjoys his unique exposure to and partial involvement in their ever-changing creative projects.

Chris holds a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University, and an M.B.A. from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business, Evening & Weekend program. At Columbia, he was a King’s Crown Leadership Excellence Award recipient, and was Resident Advisor and Associate Program Manager for the Intercultural Resource Center. He has served on the Board of the Columbia Alumni Association (CAA), is President Emeritus of the Columbia Black Alumni Council, and is a member of the San Francisco Chapter of the CAA Young Leaders Council. While working full time and studying at Haas, he also worked as a Graduate Student Instructor for the undergraduate Marketing class, Ambassador to the University of Ghana Business School for the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), and volunteered as a Getting into Graduate School (GiGS) Mentor.

Originally from Cleveland, Chris loved living in Oakland for over 5 years, and now calls San Francisco home.
