Chiemeka Okoronkwo is currently a Project/Program Manager at Visa, Inc. and is responsible for managing the development of software and applications that allow people to make digital cash transactions quickly and securely. Prior to joining Visa, Ms. Okoronkwo spent nine years in Washington D.C. as a Management Consultant supporting large-scale tech and business transformations for various federal government agencies. Some notable projects include work with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) developing the Veterans Benefit Management System (VBMS), data analysis supporting the Affordable Care Act, and developing the client configuration of ServiceNow at the United States Postal Service (USPS).
When Ms. Okoronkwo leaves Silicon Valley, she spends time investing in her community in the Eastbay. The Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force appointed Chiemeka this past September and she serves as the Education Program Chair. She hopes that she can make valuable contributions through this platform by educating the community on ways to improve Hayward's environment, and inspire active engagement with solutions aimed to resolve issues of waste, homelessness, and sustainability.
During Chiemeka's free time, she enjoys family (especially her baby girl and dog), exercising, hiking, participating in sports or friendly competitions, dabbling in home renovations/interior design, and Netflix/chill weekends.
Chiemeka holds a Master of Public Administration from American University in Washington D.C., and a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Xavier University of Louisiana.
