Carrie Wade is Programs Manager at the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), where she coordinates and implements all of AAPD’s national programming. She arrived at AAPD as the inaugural Disability Rights Storytellers Fellow, working with AAPD and Rooted in Rights to create digital videos focused on disability justice. Her projects discussed the intersections of the disability and LGBTQIA communities, particularly around marriage rights and political engagement. Carrie is also a staff writer at the queer feminist website Autostraddle, where she covers disability, pop culture, and politics. Her writing has been featured on Everyday Feminism, Upworthy, and other outlets across the internet, and she is a frequent guest on podcasts and radio.
