Carolyn Capern is the co-founder and Digital Storyteller at CTS Agency, where she wears many hats (most often a fedora). She leads the content team and manages project implementation on a day to day basis with her unique passion for great storytelling and effective, concise messaging.
Carolyn has created and implemented digital and traditional marketing strategies for multiple Central Florida nonprofit marketing initiatives, including the Rethink Homelessness campaign for the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness; the Harbor House of Central Florida Purple Purse campaign; the Step Up Against Poverty campaign for United Against Poverty; the "Our Children, Our Choice" campaign for the Children's Trust of Central Florida; and the "Together" campaign for Orlando United Assistance Center.
Carolyn teaches marketing courses at the Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rollins College. She is an active community leader and graduate of the Mayor's City Academy and Leadership Orlando. Carolyn currently serves on the board of directors for Central Care Mission and is a member of the IDignity Communications Committee.
Carolyn and her partner Greg Trujillo are regularly featured speakers on digital marketing, social media, effective messaging, and cause-based advocacy. Previous speaking engagements include: Social Fresh Conference, Florida BlogCon, United Way of Florida, The ABLE Trust, Community Foundation of South Lake County, the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley, and more.
Carolyn grew up in Nova Scotia before moving to the seacoast region of New Hampshire. As the child of a librarian and an IBM software consultant, she developed an early appreciation for storytelling and technology. Carolyn studied Political Science and History at American University in Washington, DC, where she graduated with honors. Prior to founding CTS Agency (then known as CT Social) in 2012 with Greg Trujillo, she worked as the Digital Marketing Director for Cardinal Marketing.
