Guided by his faith and love for people, he was drawn to public service and continues to use his platform to advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. He began working in the Florida Legislature as an Administrative Assistant, eventually working his way up to the position of Legislative Analyst. After 10 years in the Legislature, Carlos currently works for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer services in the role of Deputy Legislative Affairs Director. Carlos holds a B.S. in Political Science from Florida State University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.Carlos began his journey with New Leaders Council by being selected for the inaugural class of Tallahassee in 2014. Since finishing the Institute, he has served in various capacities on the local chapter board, including Alumni Co-Chair and as Advancement Co-Chair.
