Cameron Liebert is a bi-racial queer transgender man with a Master of Social Work.  Cameron has worked over the past six years for a variety of nonprofits that focus their mission around LGBTQ communities and HIV prevention and treatment.  Currently, Cameron serves as a Research Specialist at Vivent Health. His current research, in partnership with University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Medicine, involves enrolling participants living with HIV and substance use disorder in a one-year intervention tool via mobile-health application. In addition to the main research goals, Cameron and his team were able to quickly pivot to collect data regarding mobile applications and health outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings and analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on substance use and HIV medication adherence was recently published in the AIDS and Behavior Journal. Cameron started his work with nonprofit organizations in 2014, when he passionately served as a Health Educator at Center on Halsted in Chicago, the largest LGBTQ Community Center in the Midwest. While at the Center, Cameron served in various roles providing direct HIV and counseling services to clients.  In 2016, he transitioned to a leadership role as he was asked to help shape the new Transitional Age Youth Housing Initiative aimed at providing services to LGBTQ+ young people experiencing homelessness. He has extensive experience in social services and is passionate about dismantling the systems that have disadvantaged so many of the people he has served.
