Brooke is a native from North Minneapolis, and a dynamic leader with an exceptional background in youth development, community development, and leadership. Brooke has over ten years' experience working in youth serving organizations across Minnesota. As a creative strategist and visionary leader, Brooke consistently seeks ways to increase her capacity as a leader through listening, connecting to community, networking, and engaging in high-level leadership development opportunities.
As an undergraduate, Brooke earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Criminal Justice, and a Graduate Nonprofit Management and Leadership Certificate from Minnesota State University-Mankato. In 2016, she studied Urban Planning and Development in Ghana for three weeks. Additionally, Brooke holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Youth Development and Leadership, and an Equity and Diversity Certificate from the University of Minnesota.
Brooke is an alumnus of the 2017 Josie R. Johnson Leadership Academy, and 2020 New Leaders Council-Twin Cities chapter. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Secretary for the Minneapolis NAACP, and Co-Chair for Josie R. Johnson Leadership Academy Alumni Committee. Brooke is a firm believer in God and believes in the power of manifestation. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling with family, meditating, completing art projects and fixing up her wand to cast her black girl magic.
