Brianna Tobias is a transplant from the northern Chicago suburbs. Her St. Louis adventure started at Washington University, where she studied Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies and Urban Studies. Those two disciplines sparked a passion for intentional community building and have shaped Brianna's professional interests in venue management and urban development. As Event Lead for CIC St. Louis, she continues to learn about and address the power events, space, and access have in shaping a community.
While facilitating productive connections and providing accessible platforms to creatives and curators is what she currently dedicates her time to, Brianna's overarching mission is to change the face of development. Land and property is a historically powerful form of currency not statistically amassed by black people. By operating and owning property, communities prone to gentrification will have more than a superficial vote in what the development of their neighborhoods look like, they can drive the development themselves.
Brianna believes in purposeful work, genuine connection, and fruitful collaboration.
