Bria Bowler was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Family Life Education with an emphasis on Marriage and Family. Bria also has a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education: Student Personnel. While attending UCO Bria remained actively involved on and off campus. She participated in organizations that celebrated diversity, advocated for underrepresented students and promoted inclusion.
Bria currently serves as an Academic Coordinator for UCO GEAR UP who partners with the Mid-Del School District. Bria currently helps the class of 2025 meet the goals of the UCO Connect grant objectives. The grant objectives are as follows: A. to increase the academic performance and preparation for post-secondary education of GEAR UP students. B. Increase the rate of high school graduation and enrollment in the post-secondary education for GEAR UP students. C. Increase GEAR UP students' and their families' knowledge of post-secondary education options, preparation, and financing.
Bria is actively involved in her community volunteering at local charitable events and youth programs. She is passionate about assisting low-income and first-generation students finding ways to alleviate the issues these students experience. She believes in providing resources and advocating for students who aren't provided with equal opportunities to higher education.
