Ashley Sharp is a lifelong resident of Prince George's County and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park. While she studied Government & Politics, she was very involved on campus serving in various leadership roles to include pledging Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. during her freshman year. In college, she was exposed to the legislative experience at the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis working for Delegate Diana Fennell as her Director of Constituent Services through a capstone program. Shortly after graduation, she continued her work in public service working for Congressman Anthony Brown, Delegate Jay Walker and led Councilmember Monique A. Walker to victory during the 2018 elections. Currently, she is Deputy Chief of Staff to Prince George's County Council Member At-Large Calvin S. Hawkins, II. Her experience in government garnered recognition by the Prince George's Social Innovation Fund as she was inducted as a member of public service for the 2018 40 Under 40 cohort.
Ashley is also a business owner. She is the Founder & CEO of her own business — The Resurgence Consulting Group — which advises non-profits, government entities and small businesses on strategies related to brand development and community relations. She is also a partner of Market Fresh Gourmet — a local, minority-owned, full-service community grocer chain that aims to serve as the change agent in underserved communities who reside in food deserts or health enterprise zones. Her dream is to travel at her own leisure and to become a philanthropist helping people all over the world.
