Ashley Juraska
The SAFE Alliance, Senior Director of Data, Evaluation, and IT

Ashley Juraska is the Senior Director of Data, Evaluation and Information Technology at The SAFE Alliance, a merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace. In this role, Ashley supervises the design, development, and maintenance of the agency’s client databases and IT systems and she supports SAFE’s internal evaluation work. Ashley believes that when combined with a focus on equity, data, evaluation, and technology can be tools that empower and connect individuals and communities; without that lens the same tools are often used to divide and oppress.

Ashley holds a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University. She first became involved in public service in high school as a Congressional Page in the US House of Representatives and continued to work around the country and world, teaching Pre-Kindergarten on the Navajo Reservation, supporting women’s empowerment in humanitarian settings in West Africa and East Africa, increasing access to low cost family planning services in Texas, and conducting research on access to sexual assault services on Native American land. Ashley completed Leadership Austin’s Emerge program in 2018 and was a skater, Accounting Manager and Business Development Manager for Texas Roller Derby (TXRD) from 2013 to 2016. She loves registering voters and block walking and in her spare time she enjoys reading and walking her dogs.
