Anthony Rodriguez received a B.A in Biology from San Diego State University where he graduated with honors. After graduation, Anthony left his home city of San Diego and completed a year of national service (AmeriCorps) with City Year Philadelphia, coaching and mentoring elementary-level students to ensure they meet their full potential. Inspired by national service, he served with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and piloted programs to make health, housing, and employment resources more accessible to food-insecure residents of Allegheny County.
Since 2017, Anthony has served in multiple fundraising roles for City Year San José/Silicon Valley. In his first two years, he organized and led large-scale community service projects across San Jose in partnership with Silicon Valley companies to increase investment and impact in East San Jose communities. In that short-time, he mobilized over 1,300 Bay Area residents to beautify school campuses and installed two 1,000 square foot murals in East San Jose schools. In 2019, Anthony transitioned into a front-line fundraiser role and currently serves as the Corporate Development Manager. Responsible for fundraising $500,000 annually for the organization, Anthony primarily generates and stewards corporate philanthropic partners, including Fortune 500 companies, to ensure more East San Jose students have access to high-quality educational resources and mentorship.
Anthony has invested his time, talent, and resources to building the Silicon Valley community he calls home. In 2019, Anthony joined the San Jose Public Library Foundation where he serves as Chair for the San Jose Learns Advisory Committee. Additionally, Anthony has been engaged with community organizations and clubs in various roles such Echo Church, iMentor, San Jose Public Library, Silicon Valley Young Democrats.
