Anisa Liban is a non-profit professional with a background in community organizing and the public sector. She graduated from the John Glenn College of Public Affairs with a BA in Public Affairs and minor in Nonprofit Studies. Anisa spent her early-career advocating for clean-safe drinking water and has raised over $70,000 through her organization Horn of Hope, a nonprofit striving to alleviate hunger, illiteracy and poverty in Somalia. Since launching Horn of Hope in 2014, Anisa has collaborated with international charities including PackH20, the American Relief Agency for the Horn of Africa (ARAHA) and the Fowzia Health Foundation. Today, she works as a Legislative Aide at the Ohio Senate. Anisa is a New-Leadership Ohio Alumna and New-American Leadership 2019 Spring Cohort participant.
Anisa uses her specialization in nonprofit management to collaborate with agencies across Franklin County to improve outreach in the Somali community. When she is not organizing, Anisa can be found doing girl leadership advocacy or planning events for youth as a Students Overcoming Adverse Realities (SOAR) Board Member. She is often found serving in a myriad of roles both professionally and in the community.
