Andrea Segovia is a native Texan and proud Bi-sexual, Latinx woman. She began her journey of activism and organizing in her early years of primary school ensuring her peers had food at home and now works tirelessly for the advancement of equality for all in Texas. Andrea received her education at the University of Houston where she earned a BA in Political Science. She began her career out of college working to ensure young Latinx voters were voting in her hometown of San Antonio as well as in her new home, Houston. She realized her love for campaigns and organizing for some of the most marginalized communities and never looked back. Since 2015 Andrea has talked to over 28,000 Texans to vote, talk to their elected officials, activate the individuals to volunteer and so much more. Andrea is passionate about the intersectionality of each person and empowering Texans to share their stories and use their voice to create the change they deserve. Andrea actively brings people together to push for equality through her work at HRC as a field organizer. She is enthusiastic about the change happening in Texas and does not plan to stop organizing until the most marginalized individuals have equality.
