Alyssa Greene is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota for the past 3 years. She has provided mental health care in outpatient, day programming, residential, and inpatient settings. The majority of Alyssa's work has been in treating eating disorders with co-occurring substance use disorders and anxiety disorders. Alyssa freelance writes for mental health websites and blogs about a variety of mental health, wellness, and therapy topics.
Alyssa is also a volunteer leader with Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota Action Fund where she recruits and trains volunteers, organizes and hosts events, and leads canvasses and phone banks with other amazing women. Recently, she has been appointed to the state of Minnesota's Advisory Committee for the Ombudsman's Office for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities where she can help inform the state on how services are being provided in the community, and what can be improved. She has also been recently selected to join Minnesota's Women Winning's LAUNCH Committee to host events and campaign to elect pro-choice women to all levels of political office.
Through Alyssa's work, it's clear that she has a strong passion for access to reproductive rights/justice, accessibility to effective and culturally competent mental health resources, and fighting diet culture. She also is an advocate for justice for sexual assault victims/survivors as well as sexual assault prevention. Outside of work and activism, Alyssa loves traveling. She and her partner try to travel as often as they can, both internationally and domestically. Alyssa is also working on becoming a more skilled aerialist and absolutely loves true crime podcasts and documentaries.
